She held her breath, thinking very carefully about the sentence that was to come out of her mouth.
"Sure, what's this favor you ask of me?"
"I need you to drive down the old highway and see how many cops are out, i wanna know if i can get home okay."
"Nick, you know it's 1 in the morning, right?"
"Please, Tori."
"Yea, i'll text you."
She grabbed her keys and slowly opened the front door, the dog barked softly, she hushed him and continued. She ran to the car and started quickly, let it run for a sec and then started to back out. She drove across town and slowly crept towards the highway. No cops, not even cars, there was nothing, she was taking this drive for absolutely nothing. Oh, that's right, there was one reason, she couldn't say no to him. She was so in love with him that saying no to one thing he said might make him leave and she couldn't have that happen again. He couldn't leave her again, she'd fall apart.
